router?

hello i am new to Xplornet but i am quite knowledgeable with computers. so my question is i am trying to hook up a router and i am unsuccessful i am told that there is something special that has to be done in order to get it working. A local guy will come and set it up for me but he wants to charge me 100 bucks. oh and by the way the internet works fine without the router in place

thanks in advance

I'm using a router (SMC7000BR) with Xplornet and have had no problems. It may depend on what router you're using. If your router is configured to get an IP address automatically (via DHCP) it should work.

One important tip: turn on the Xplornet modem first. Wait for it to establish a connection (solid light). Then turn on your router.
