Why should they give it to anyone else? They're all moaning bastards who won't respect Verizon's WISE choice to MAKE money while deploying fiber... They'll get it in due time, don't bitch when you don't got a pot to piss on. NJ/NY is the economic heart of this country.

Texas, New York, and California all rake in roughly the same amount of money per year. Texas and New York are within about a million of each other's population, both bringing in a little over $1trillion a year to the US economy. The real reason (if any) is because the population density is so much lower in Texas than New York, not because of how much money is made in each state.
My point is, it's hardly possible to call any area in the US the "economic heart" of the country.
The only real reason why people in NY/NJ get this special treatment is because there's decent competition there. It is not because of some mystical preference for the NY/NJ area.
All this said, I despise the elitist jerks who come into every single thread anyone ever posts about attempting to petition Verizon about prices or something, spamming about how if you don't live in the northeast that you don't deserve faster internet.
(ps. someone's about to come cry about how everything costs more in NY, so that's why people in NY deserve cheap broadband) |

Point #2 - Never noticed a response like that from anyone.

Said it before, I'll say it again - we have plenty of competition here - the competition is just waiting for Verizon to up its game at this point. Verizon recently raised our rates in order to "improve our service" - hey, it's not improved one bit. |

GeekNJPremium join:2000-09-23 Waldwick, NJ | My comment about the steaks has nothing to do with why one area has it and another doesn't. That whole discussion was around the whining from those that didn't have, feeling 'entitled'. Try not to mix the two just to make a point. -- Tweaked your connection? | Mail Parse | Speed Converter |

Again, my point still stands:

Second: What do I see in that thread? I see plenty of comments from you trying to justify this Verizon bullshit. Once again, I'll just direct you back to your posts with the food analogies.
said by GeekNJ:I agree. They should take away the different services and pricing and drop everyone to the lowest common denominator. We should go back to 5/1, 15/2 and whatever the next higher tier was when I first got FIOS 2 or 3 years ago. Then everything would be equal and everyone would be fine with it. Maybe we can get all of BBR to band together and make a proposal to Verizon. Elitist, sarcastic reply. Was that really necessary, I wonder?
Apologize? I almost LOL'd. Almost. |

You, replying to me in response to my post to an anon user clearly says in your comments that I posted that only those in the northeast deserve faster internet. That was the original comment I responded to which you then accused me. I certainly never said anything of the sort. You continue to give reasons for why users should enjoy the status quo in multiple threads. Tell me, what exactly do you have against users wanting better service?
said by GeekNJ:So it seems that each response you make, you no longer address the inaccuracy of your last reply which is being challenged but try to post something else unrelated. I fail to see how my comment was unrelated. The user made a comment ("elitist jerks"), you claimed that there were no such posts, I replied and stated that your posts smacked of it and pointed to an example.
