| CCleaner Bug
Prior to doing a system cleaning I decided to check the Prefetch Folder. Well it was crammed with entries going back several weeks. Just moments before checking I had ran CCleaner with the Prefetch cleaning enable. Obviously this feature of CCleaner does not work properly. This is using the newest version of CCleaner.
Usually I do not clean the PreFetch Folder but once each week.....or thought I was cleaning....with CCleaner. But There was entries dating back to the last re-format. So it appears that previous versions of CCleaner had the same Bug.

So if you're several weeks is really 2 then it's not an issue but I guess over that then you might have a valid issue, at least in your case.
Mine is working here btw. |

| reply to The Snowman One more time: do not clean out your Prefetch folder!

but if you must and want them cleaned completely on demand and fast use the atf-cleaner

Since CCleaner hold two weeks worth. But be advised in anycase without any type of cleaning, "XP will just re-create that data anyways; secondly, it trims the files anyways if theres ever more than 128 of them so that it doesnt needlessly consume space." -- Gladiator Security Forum »www.gladiator-antivirus.com/ Missing Kids »www.missingkids.com/ |

Thanks for the replys.
Well this is indeed very odd. My last reformat was about six weeks ago an there were entiries dating back till then. But since no one else is having this issue then it must be on my end. Perhaps one of my security programs is preventing certain changes. I will dig deeper into this tomorrow. |

Will I just checked the Prefetch Folder and it is normal after cleaning it last night. So in the future I will just clean it "my way" and not use CCleaner for that purpose. Issue resolved. LOL |
