 | The Great Game And now, ladies and gentlemen, we all understand the great shell game...this will help them show ever larger Fios customer numbers to Wall Street even though most of them are just upgrades from existing dsl customers. Fact is, many of the "new" fios customers today are just "old" dsl customers. I dare them to let a 3rd party audit what % of fios customers are new customers to Verizon data services. I'd bet it's less than 50%. Possibly much less.
That means they're spending $1000-2000 (not couunting advertising and sales costs) to turn a $30 customer into a $40 customer. |

 | Verizon financial report has it at 22% of new fios customers as "old" dsl subscribers. Comcast financial report has 29% of voip customers are from comcast circuit switched subscribers. |

 | Maybe...maybe not. They also told their advertisers they had all these TV customers they actually don't have (they counted all these pending installs and people on waiting lists, etc.) and charged rates they don't deserve and ended up getting sued for charging too much.
»Verizon Sued For Overstating FiOSTV Numbers
One can do a lot with numbers when one has hidden assumptions..."it depends on what the meaning of "is" is." |
