I got a Calgary # in the last promo but I am hoping to get a Vancouver one in this round.
This is a great thing you guys are doing.
It has already shown me that the quality problems I have had with Primus are not ALL Shaw's fault as Primus would like me to believe.
The calls I have placed and received through you guys have been perfect so far with none of the choppiness I have experienced with Primus.
And they are both over the same coax, go figure.
Hopefully you will be able to port #'s before the trial ends so I can switch.

Please try calling Edmonton now. It should now be working properly.

I just tried it and it is different now.
When I dial a 780 nxx xxxx # now I get a message that is a woman's voice saying that I had dialed a long distance number and to try dialing the #1 first.
When I do 1 780 nxx xxxx I get the old Acanac voice saying that it is a trial and that I can't dial out of my calling area.

Edmonton should work on some areas. Others ( considered long distance ) will not.

As far as I know all numbers in Edmonton are still area code 780.
I have tried a few numbers and none of them work.

Hello,

Sorry for the late reply. We are not 100% sure. YOu see we have PRI's in certain area's but they are for local calling only so anything that is billable will have to terminate through other carriers. THe problem is that the free promo doesn't have carrier termination only pri. So basicall if it works then its local and if it doesn't then you would have to subscribe to be able to dial those areas.

I am not sure I get it though.
As far as I know all of Edmonton is on area code 780 at this point.
Like I said I get a female operator when I try to dial any 780 numbers, so it is getting out of your area and going somewhere.

When you say you have PRI's in certain area's do you mean certain areas of Edmonton?
Is there more then one?
And is there any way of specifying which one I would get directed to?

Is there anything I can do to help test or verify what works?

Personally i am not sure if there are different area's in edmonton or not. I am in toronto so I know the area's around here but not there. Basically we can't choose where it terminates. On initial setup they selected an area and im not sure which area that is. I wish I could be a lot more helpful. pm us with a phone number you are testing and we will figure out what's going on. Also we may add a route for you to that number so you can test. Unfortunately we can't open up other areas on the free service because when we terminate with other providers where we do not have pri calling we pay per min thus this free promo would cost us a lot more money and would not meet our business plan.
