My transfer from them to Teksavvy, from cancellation to signup to login all on the same day, went without a hiccup. And there were no interruptions any time after I switched to TSI, either.

I'd be willing to bet the vast majority who switched from wherever to TSI will also report no problems from Bell.

TFArchive posted : I moved to a new apartment on Nov 1st and it took Bell until Friday the 16th to get both of my DSL lines working properly. My first line wasn't working until the 13th. Activation dates were both the 9th.

It took 4 visits from techs to fix my issues.

I'm up and running with both of my DSL lines and just waiting on a profile bump from Bell on my Teksavvy line.

Here are my new stats, pretty sweet. Bell even had my sympatico line at 8mbit for a time before their script picked it up and put me back to 6mbit. 850KB/s on a single thread was pretty sweet while it lasted.

»tfarchive.com/RFD/nov19.png

Edit, I was so hard up for internet I had to sign up for a teksavvy dialup account, I think I nodded off a few times waiting for pages to load :(

ftp1020 posted : Unfortunately, Bell can be like that. My previous ISP inadvertently instructed Bell to release my line (the fault was an old billing issue with two logins on the one phone line). They realized a mistake had been made once they had a VERY irate me on the phone, but because it was up to Bell to reconnect the line card, that meant 5-10 business days without internet service. Because of a long weekend, it worked out to 8 calendar days without service. Once you get Bell out of the equation, things should go much smoother. Unfortunately, hurricane1, it's only been 3 business days...

As for my previous ISP, I can forgive mistakes but I wouldn't mind hearing "we effed up, sorry" but the best I got from them was "we TOLD you how the problem happened" and no hint of restitution for the 8 days lost service. Once service was back, one of the first things I did was go to www.teksavvy.com and sign up.

hurricane1 posted : I did the same thing, signing up with TS on Oct 25 to be effective Nov 12. I started using the TS login right away.

All was great until Nov 14 when it looks like Bell cut off my service. Tickets are apparently open with Bell, but no resolution as of Nov 19 morning.
anon posted : Just wanted to drop a potentially useless post to say that after "unofficially" switching to TekSavvy on the 9th, things are looking and feeling great.

By unofficial, I mean that my disconnect date from my old DSL ISP is on November 30th. I kinda cheated and decided to use the Teksavvy login early. Unfortunately, I couldn't wait. The real test will come when my service is officially transferred over and hopefully, it'll be done without a glitch.

Hope it goes well! :D
