1 edit | reply to CCat The more I study this photo the more I see how incredible it is.
The two birds at the top are at an angle where their torsos are more pronounced that the lower bird - which came in handy for the eyes on the smiley face.
The Birds were aligned at a well proportionate distance from each other.
Only three birds in the shot - more or less birds wouldn't cut it.
Photographer was directly perpendicular to the exhibit, being off by 30 degrees or so would not generate the same effect.
Combination of birds wing positions and the person squeezing the shutter at the right time - Priceless -- Good judgement comes with experience...Experience comes after bad judgements |

 | reply to WaxPhoto True, the basic aspect of unison bird strokes might be common, but as natedj said there are hundreds of factors that would have turned this photo into just another photo of birds flying. Capturing birds flying in just this way, at just this angle, with just this number of birds, etc, is very rare. |

Real or manipulated?!! I have to agree with that question... I think the helping hand of Photoshop was at play here. There's something just "not quite right" about that photo. -- »www.woodengraphics.com |

SmatchimoProfessional Genuine Image VerifierPremium join:2004-08-20 Walnut Creek, CA | reply to CCat I thought that too, but i think its the fact that one bird is actually flying at a different angle than the others is just whats throwing me off. one is going more to the right of the picture than the other top two that seem to be going "into" the picture. -- `~You can't have "manslaughter" without "laughter"~` |

I guess that only the photographer knows for sure. Yeah, it would be extremely easy to manipulate, but it's impossible to tell because of the horrible compression.
Oh well. It's not worth debating. |
