Re: Sending / receiving FAX through HKBN 2b VOIP Telephone

Thanks for mazilo's suggestion, however, it is difficult for me to use email only at the moment.

Looking for a product of VoIP gateway or SIP server that can extend my existing PSTN phone service to internet via existing broadband internet connection. It need to support FAX. I got a Linksys SPA2100 ATA, it will be great if the product can use the ATA to connect the server. Is the following product can serve the purpose?

»store.voxilla.com/voip-products/···ome.html

The product is quite expensive for a one men band company, is there any more economic solution?

I know and this was a dilemma we had, too. However, we chose to ditch FAX and started using e-mail with attachments. Anyone wants to FAX to us has to use the FAX2e-mail; however, we ONLY respond to their e-mail address with attachments, instead of FAX.

It is a good solution to use email instead of FAX, however, some of our partner or work mate still using FAX, that I still need FAX service. The popular solution in the market is FAX to email, which can only receive FAX through email, but no way to send. I am thinking about to setup a SIP server, but seems that it is so expensive and not affordable for my one men band company. Any suggest for me?

We have moved on and replaced facsimile services through attachments on e-mails and the quality is much better. We scan pages in TIFF B/W G4 FAX format to conserve the bandwidth.

According to the post on internet forums, HKBN did something to block the fax signal. They really so silly, why they didn't create a service plan to enable FAX service. So that they can earning money from it and I can enjoying FAX through internet. I am looking for other solution now. Any suggestion for me?

Subscribed Hong Kong 2b ( »www.2b.com.hk ) VoIP telephone for two years, I use a Linksys Sipura SPA-2100 ATA to connect with a FAX machine. The FAX machine was working properly for more than a year. However, started from early October 2007, it fail to send / receive FAX for unknown reason. while voice calls are still working properly. The symptom is that we still can hear the "bi bi" sound when we try to sending / receiving FAX, however, the FAX machine cannot make connection with other end.

Do you have same experience with me? How do you fix the problem?
