Re: [POLL] Should cable be forced to carry NFL Network ?

I heard something earlier that one of the Yankees was renegotiating his contract for $48 million, or some ridiculous price like that.. With all these endorsement deals, there should be a salary cap on players. No more than $3 million a year....more than enough for anyone too live off of.

It'd be interesting too see how much the price would drop on these channels if that where the case..

I do, however, remember watching a lower ranked football game (I think it was called XFL) that was rather fun too watch on NBC. Moved a bit quicker, too..
That's what this country needs to make things right. A society with communist and socialist roots. When people say things like "athletes shouldn't make so much", I believe they make those statements out of envy and jealousy. Those folks either have a lot of money or have no shot of EARNING really good money in their life. If athletes had their salary cut, do you think costs would go down? If you do you are naive. It'll just transfer from the millionaire players to the billionaire owners.

The players deserve the money because they are the ones putting on the show. Should actors get paid less because you feel they make too much? No one complains about their pay. The truth is a FEW athletes make tens of millions or have endorsement contracts. Most athletes have 1-3 careers and get real jobs after pro sports, so they should take as much as they can get. If you had any athletic ability, you would too.

Goods and services are worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them.

True.. but in this case I wasn't talking about the regular guys, just the hadnfull that make $20,000,000 or so. I know nothing about the business of baseball, but it would be interesting too see how it all breaks down and what goes toward paying that much amount of money....

I can always dream of making the pro bowling circuit and get a $1,000,000 a check myself
