| reply to deblin Re: NEW ~ FiOS INTERNET PREMIUM SPEED PACKAGES
If you can actually give me a reason why it costs more to deliver bandwidth to Penns Grove, NJ than to New Castle, DE across the river, I'll believe you. But just saying it costs more doesn't actually make it true. Otherwise it's nothing more than price gouging because my market it less competitive. |

| reply to KA3SGM *shrug* Don't upgrade then. I for one am salivating in preparation for the upstream increase, assuming I can get it for not much more than what I pay now for 15/2 business. I don't care what NY has, because guess what? I don't live in NY. -- Hello...is there anybody in there? |

Any word on when the 15/2 areas get upped to 20/5? Just trying to figure out what the decision is here before signing any contracts. Thanks for the posts! |

Your "neighbor", that happens to be in a more densely populated and better connected location... -- Hello...is there anybody in there? |

Many customers in VA already have 30/5 for $55/mo so for them this may not be the greatest deal. You pay $10/mo more for half the downstream and 3x the upstream.
Just be aware that you won't see that full 15Mbps upstream outside of your region. When transferring files across the country (east coast to west), you'll rarely see more than 5Mbps. |

Because datacenters and connectivity between peering points is cheaper in those areas. | reply to deblin Really? I had no idea all of NJ was more densely populated than all of DE.
If that's the case why isn't my neighborhood in Wilmington getting charged less than they are charging people in Angola in southern DE? We're much more densely populated, surely we should be charged less or get more speed, right? |

Unfortunately this thread has been polluted with the arguments over the 15/15 vs. 20/20 thing, which I myself am guilty of being dragged into.
Let's keep it on topic here. Thanks again for posting the heads up DoRight ! -- Hello...is there anybody in there? |

I never said $65 dollars for 15/15 isn't awesome. It's just not as awesome as my neighbors across the river who are getting 5/5 more for the same price.. |
