 [northeast] Actiontec router keeps freezing

Has anyone had issues where the actiontec router freezes? I have been rebooting my router like 3 to 8 times a day. I have been through 3 routers and Verizon just replaced the ONT. This has been going in for like 2 to 3 months. Fios was installed in the Spring and has worked fine until around August. I have 3 XP PCs-DHCP, 1 Vista PC-DHCP and 1 Vista HTPC-Static. I think I narrowed it down to when files are being downloaded. Sometimes I can download a 100MB file on my Vista pc and then a 15MB being dowloaded on a XP pc could cause the router to freeze! Can anyone shed some light on this issue before I lose my mind. the latest firmware is applied.
Thanks

ahh, why haven't you called vz tech support about this?

You could have an over-heated unit. Try repositioning it vertically.

I called and got a replacement when mine died. Has been working fine ever since.

Ummm I stated above that the router has been replaced 3 times already... Verizon does not have a clue what is causing it... Then again Verizon has no clue period but I guess it is par for the course!!!

What are you using for the fios interface from the ONT?

If it is Cat5, just try to use another router. In terms of the Actiontec, the consumer routers do not hold up well because their nat table fills up.

To answer the question of the OP, yes, I have problems still where I have to turn the router on/off maybe every other day because of it freezing up. A reboot seems to fix the issue and I've also had both styles of AT routers.
