Re: [CA] college access to cox email via outlook If her computer is connected to the campus network, then Cox won't allow her to use the Cox SMTP server for outbound email. Use of the cox smtp server is only allowed if you are actually connected to cox's network. This prevents "outsiders" from using Cox SMTP servers for spamming purposes.
Assuming the campus provides an SMTP server students can use for outgoing email, she can change her outlook settings to use the campus SMTP server to send mail. She would leave her return address unchanged as xxxx@cox.net
