they are now a responsible entity

So now that they are checking and filtering for this content they should also be liable if some does pass. I want the RIAA to be on their doorstep now instead of old grandmothers without computers. It is kinda like if you dont shovel your sidewalk and someone trips and falls they are at fault. but if you shovel and try to make a nice path but as it usually the case it becomes icey and slippery you the homeowner is now responsible since you intervened to taking part in the snow removal in front of your house. its true though you shovel someone slips you are liable, do nothing and you are not. At least around here. backwards i know but that life.

While I agree with them being liable now, I don't think your shoveling argument holds. Around here, shoveling is actually mandatory (do it within 24 hours of a snowstorm or get fined). Besides, if I shovel my sidewalk and someone slips and falls I can at least argue that I was trying to clear a path for people as per the law and any resulting ice was not my fault. (Still, I spread ice melt over my sidewalk after shoveling it just to be safe.)
