Should we be worried that the CBS executive in charge of the operation can't distinguish between pre-WiMax and Wi-Fi? Yeah, probably. Now you may very well be right about the exec not knowing the difference. But I didn't see any mention in the story or in CBS's news release that talked about how the Wifi APs connected to the internet. Couldn't it be possible that they are using a pre-Wimax system to link the AP's back to a central site for connection to a land line.
An alternative interpretation of his statement may be that he feels his WiFi system will be the best out there until pre-Wimax systems are deployed.
