Corp000085 : all right auggy, i applied KB933262 from microsoft.. It updates the usb driver and fixes usb audio problems. Unfortunately, my headphones are upstairs with the rest of my peripherals because my father in law is sleeping in the bedroom! If you've heard of this fix, let me know what i am to expect tomorrow when i plug everything back in. I am confident in this fix as it updates the usbaudio.sys file to version 6.0.6000.20539. Unfortunately, the patch is only available through request from MS. here's the link to the KB article

»support.microsoft.com/kb/933262

[Vista] Sound settings with headset

Corp000085 : I have a laptop and a plantronics usb headset with a volume control button on the unit... Here's the situation. In windows xp, the volume works perfectly... I can either use the sliders in windows or the volume button to raise and lower the volume from silent to loud. However, in vista, if i lower the sliders to 0, or hit the - button on the volume switch on the headset, some sound still comes out. If i mute it through windows or using my keyboard button, it gets silent, however, the sliders don't work as advertised... If this is indeed a vista thing and not a plantronics thing, anyone got any suggestions as to how to fix my situation?
