I did install the intel inf updater thing, so maybe that will do the trick... Any way to get that patch from microsoft to work? | |

Perhaps you have already installed this patch. If so, KB941600 should show up as an installed update in Start > All Programs > Windows Update > View Update History | |

If there's any other suggestions, i'd be more than happy to try them... If not, thanks for your help, but its no big deal really. It's mainly an inconvenience rather than something that is worthy of redoing my system. Please though, if you have any other suggestions, i'm all ears! | |

| Re: [Vista] Sound settings with headset all right auggy, i applied KB933262 from microsoft.. It updates the usb driver and fixes usb audio problems. Unfortunately, my headphones are upstairs with the rest of my peripherals because my father in law is sleeping in the bedroom! If you've heard of this fix, let me know what i am to expect tomorrow when i plug everything back in. I am confident in this fix as it updates the usbaudio.sys file to version 6.0.6000.20539. Unfortunately, the patch is only available through request from MS. here's the link to the KB article

That update has helped a lot of users with USB audio problems in Vista and has potential for your problem.
I believe that patch will be included in SP1. | |
