There is one small, strange caveat. While the converted TIFF file contains the annotations when opened via Microsoft Document Imaging or via the MDIViewer, other viewers (Including IrfanView) do not show them. So I need to re-annotate all of the files using IrfanView. Not a huge deal, and at least IrfanView does allow me to annotate images.

Also, while multiple pages can exist in the TIFF file, each page needs to be converted separately in IrfanView to a different JPG file. I don't see a way to rapidly convert multiple page TIFF files into separate page JPG files. So "batch conversion" is not helpful with multiple page TIFF files.
