After reading your post I did a search on your problem, It seems alot of people are having the same issues especially with verizon and some with centurytel. Almost all post stated the same exact issues that you are having and almost all have put up with it for several months. All post that I found that were finally resolved was due to a issue on the service provider's end not the users end.
