I was not implying that hassy was making the sensor - I was implying that Pentax is 'gunning for' Hasselblad customers when it releases it's 645D MF camera. When they were going to release it in 2005 it was sporting an 18mp Kodak sensor - All bets are that it will have a larger sensor (24mp - 30mp?) from Kodak when it hits the shelves. Sort of, a bargain priced digital medium format camera. By bargain, $6k - $10k.. -- Bozone (n.): The substance surrounding stupid people that stops bright ideas from penetrating.

If it comes in with the original 18mp Kodak sensor, maybe it will cost about $3k - That would be sweeet! |

4 edits | Still all down the road BS.... unless Hoya has changed things, with both 100 and 10D release dates were precisely anounce AND precisely LIVED UP TO... well in advance.
But these are comig out in Jan and NOTHING officially Petax announced, I really doubt it.... especialy as it would be post Holiday season and no real incentive for a sneak attack. -- »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)

| Just an FYI, I've had 8.8MB JPG files from my K10D. Actually, the large files came from that shoot I did of my friend's artwork - it's in my gallery here. I'm not sure if the one loaded is it but, they were all very high with a minimum of 7MB.

 PENTAX K10D 100mm 1/8th F8 ISO100

Actually, I was mistaken, the largest JPG was 15.7MB.. Here it is ^^
I know what they're speaking of though - on average, just normal landscape shots etc, where there is a balance between highlights and shadows, 2-5 MB is average. If that average is now around 8MB, that's a LOT more detail.
