It may only be 1.544 Mbps symmetrical up and down, but you can run it at that bandwidth level. Note that with a T1 etc - you could contract for a partial where you get that speed but a contracted part of the bandwidth consumption ... like a 50% T1 but the penalties for exceeding that partial contract level are severe.
mbrown0420 : I'm not suggesting doing it to contra benefit bell at all. I would like to see it happen to make the customers more aware of the things that are happening to them behind closed doors and without their knowing/being properly informed. Just to let the public know.. If the add contra benefits Bell well that's a bonus? It's not my intention to have it happen that way, but the ball still has to bounce somewhere and if that's the way the ball bounces so be it..
and in all honesty have you ever watched a PSA during national elections.. they slam eachother pretty good, and on purpose.. albeit that's a totaly different scenario entirely but still a PSA none the less.. Even if it was just a PSA announcing all Bell Sympatico customers should consider visiting and then list a bunch of websites (this one for example) for the customers to be better aware of what's happening behind their backs and without being formally noticed..

Bottom line, just because you think i'm intentionally trying to BASH bell i'm not, that's just the collateral damage so to speak..
DjEclipse :
said by Sanny :

I called Bell to cancel this morning and expected it to be a nightmare judging from what i'd read on here. I don't actually know when my contract ended or ends, but it didn't seem to be an issue for me.

Instead it was probably one of the easiest calls i've made to Bell ever. Went through the menu system and got through to the cancellation dept. Told the girl I wanted to cancel, she asked why and I was very honest with her and told her that I download a lot via p2p and with the throttling that's come into effect my account no longer suits my needs. She made one attempt to keep one which was saying 'You do know you're on an unlimited account' to which I explained that it was no good having an unlimited account if I could only download at 30kB/s. She said she could understand that, told me i'd have to give a months notice which would mean the 20th of December and asked if that was ok. I said yes and she gave me my cancellation number.

Was on and off the phone within about 4 minutes, if that.
anon : I called Bell to cancel this morning and expected it to be a nightmare judging from what i'd read on here.
