Send them an email in the "contact us" explaining the problem.

False representation of a product.

You have to go with their "unlimited" service being limited.

It takes one day to get a reply, just follow their instructions.
Too bad a public service announcement is so expensive, i'd love to see this shit aired on TV.. Imagine the hundreds of thousands of unfortunate customers that don't know of this site and the fact they can fight back against BS and their idiotic ways of doing business..

What is the price of a public service announcement?

I'd certainly chip in some cash to let the rest of the country know about the illegal practises of bell and it's so called "contracts"/ service agreements.

to be honest, I have no idea what the cost, but assuming you'd have to get it aired on a couple (3 or 4) canadian networks/stations i'm sure it's not cheap. And running it once per station just wouldn't do it.. I would think it's have to be aired atleast twice a day over a couple/three days to get the message out to enough people to see it, and possibly even raise an eyebrow or two...

Just air it during Dancing With The Stars. You would hit about half the country there.

Or better yet, during Hockey Night In Canada.

Any idea what a spot in the middle of the most popular shows would cost? You could use that money to better start your own ISP.

I think you're out by a factor of at least 250 and probably closer to 1000

Remember they wouldn't consider such an ad as a "public service" announcement and they wouldn't run it in the middle of HNIC unless you could outbid the likes of Molson Coors or Esso or companies whose advertising budget is in the mega millions.

A public service announcement (PSA) or community service announcement (CSA) is a non-commercial advertisement typically on radio or television, ostensibly broadcast for the public good.

The main concept is to modify public attitudes by raising awareness about specific issues.

What was that you were saying?

How about everyone takes turns running some adwords ads?:) I'm sure we could come up with some fairly cheap keywords related to Canadian Internet, since there is so little competition in the space.

A good way to finance a campaign like this is to find sponsors.... you know brought to you by...

If you guys are serious I can do the audio and video editing that's what I do for a living, that's why my bw is so huge I transfer big files back and forth. We also need a public face or a voice, George Stroumbo for exemple would be good. The thing is it's for a good cause so people would jump in to be associated with this cause.

I doubt we could get in in a prime time window with this, maybe after midnight on a Rogers channel kind of deal.

700 GB+ of audio/video files... Maybe if that's what you do for a living, you should get yourself a T1 instead of doing that off a residential connection.

I was saying that the tv companies would not treat it as a PSA whatever wikipedia might say, and even if you did convince them it was a PSA, they're not likely to run it during HNIC unless you can cough up some VERY SERIOUS money.

I stated that running it at prime time could cost a mint, I believe it was theninjasqua that suggested it be aired during the certain time slot you're speaking of..
I simply suggested it would be interesting to see such a thing happen and I for one would be all for such a thing.
I said it would have to be ran a couple times a day for two maybe three days or whatever depending on the cost/time slot but I at no time mentioned it should be aired during peak times...

Don't set up a straw man. The part that applies to your comment (What was that you were saying?) is that the TV companies would not likely consider it a PSA in spite of what Wikipedia might say (considering that PSA rates are usually heavily discounted and since the goal is not for public benefit, but rather for contra benefit to Bell.) The rest is general comment.

A T1 is only 1.544Mbps... get Business ADSL instead: it is cheaper and 2-4X as fast.

Funny thing: from what I heard, most Business ADSL accounts are surprisingly low-bandwidth (sub-100GB/month) so I bet people switching from Residential to Business service to avoid caps will see caps coming back on Business accounts if this gets out of hand. Not surprising that Bell has such a low threshold for "abuse" when it compares residential (recreational) to business (just-in-case/reference/breaks) usage.

I'm not suggesting doing it to contra benefit bell at all. I would like to see it happen to make the customers more aware of the things that are happening to them behind closed doors and without their knowing/being properly informed. Just to let the public know.. If the add contra benefits Bell well that's a bonus? It's not my intention to have it happen that way, but the ball still has to bounce somewhere and if that's the way the ball bounces so be it..
and in all honesty have you ever watched a PSA during national elections.. they slam eachother pretty good, and on purpose.. albeit that's a totaly different scenario entirely but still a PSA none the less.. Even if it was just a PSA announcing all Bell Sympatico customers should consider visiting and then list a bunch of websites (this one for example) for the customers to be better aware of what's happening behind their backs and without being formally noticed..

Bottom line, just because you think i'm intentionally trying to BASH bell i'm not, that's just the collateral damage so to speak.. I just wish EVERY LAST ONE of Bell Sympatico customers had the 100% truth or @least as much as we know about their service..
(now Good night)

That's why a T1 is recommended. It may only be 1.544 Mbps symmetrical up and down, but you can run it at that bandwidth level. Note that with a T1 etc - you could contract for a partial where you get that speed but a contracted part of the bandwidth consumption ... like a 50% T1 but the penalties for exceeding that partial contract level are severe. (Which is in part why bandwidth costs can be SO high.
