[Messenger] Windows Live Messenger problem

My problem with Windows Live Messenger is that it either:

It randomly restarts my computer (as if you were to switch the computer off then back on)

or

Gives me an "Windows Live Messenger expectantly encountered a problem and needs to exit"

This happens almost every time i log onto Windows Live Messenger.

Yes, I've uninstalled/reinstalled, but i have not chosen to repair. Where can i repair it?
