| Is there a W2K update to run dual core processors? Is there a Windows2000 update to allow it to run dual core processors in dual core mode?
That is utilizing both cores rather than running them only as if they were a single core cpu.
A) the AMD Opties or AM2's?
B) the Intel Core2Duo's? |

 PetePumaHow many lumps do you wantPremium,MVM join:2002-06-13 Arlington, VA | By default it should use both since it appears to the OS as 2 CPUs. XP and later have some more sophisticated detecgtion and process scheduling for multi-core, but it should utilize both cores under 2k as well.
If this was an existing machine that had a single core machine that had its CPU upgraded you will need to switch the OS from a uniprocessor setup to a multiprocessor setup. |
