Re: major isps

Cablevision I would think is in the running also. Go to the speed test site for cablevision and you will see the top person with 73down.

And the Verizon speed test results already has 100 Mbps, so beat them there, LOL! 50 Mbps upload as well.

Cablevision and any other cable company will always be one step behind Verizon.

Yeah and cablevision is the only reason why they are offering the speeds that they are.

Also I was a little off on the download the speed test results are

68.2m/64.1m Cablevision schenkman @ Nesconset, NY, USA www.ispnetinc.net 15th 01:26 PM Cablevision
dyn.optonline.net

So the verizon download is higher but the cablevision upload is higher.

Also Cablevison was not one step lower. Cablevision had some of if not the top fastest speeds before verizon saw that it had to upgrade or it was sunk.

Cablevision will not always be one step behind verizon. verizon was actually one step behind cablevision untill recently.

Ehck verizon still refuses to offer fios tv in lindenhurst so I would not call that one step ahead.

Cablevision was one step ahead of Verizon for years with speed offerings, as you stated. That has now changed and Verizon, for the foreseeable future, will always be ahead of Cablevision now. By the time DOCSIS 3.0 is rolled out Verizon will have upgraded their COs to GPON, so just imagine speed package offerings they could offer then.

As for FIOS TV, my stupid cable commission hasn't approved it for almost 3 years now. I am just happy to have the internet. Hope they get TV out to you in Lindenhurst & your local commission approves FIOS TV, good luck.

That 73Down was NOT via DOCSIS 3.0 but with a different incompatible [Narad] technology (called Boost Ultra) which is not delivered over the current OOL Network (unlike how DOCSIS 3.0 can be delivered by replacing/upgrading the customer's modem and upgrading the Head End CMTS connection equipment).

Its NOT Verizon that is keeping FIOS from us in Lindenhurst. It is your local politicians in Babylon Town being paid off by that company that says they dont have a problem with competition, Cabalevision.
