Put it in the field..

Why hasn't there been MORE field testing of docsis 3.0 spec equipment by ordinary people, not CEOs?

It would be nice to see what REAL people think about the speeds and capabilities of a node and cablemodem capable of this new spec which is just about as finalized as 802.11n is but just not deployed. All this news at a time when Verizon is deploying symmetrical speeds NOW not sometime in 2008. Verizon is testing long haul fiber links with even greater speeds (albeit not for broadband at the moment, just tv). If it takes more FIOS deployments to get cable companies serious about breaking out the checkbook for docsis 3, so be it..

I'm pretty amazed at anything above 10mbits 'cause I remember the days of 300 baud with NO error correction, - UGH! - (but today's children are growing up with DSL and cablemodems will DEMAND MORE, MUCH MORE)

...because there isn't any DOCSIS 3.0 gear actually certified yet... it's all just in testing.
