Average Stream Rate?

What would be the average stream time, for sites such as youtube google video, with atleast a 5Mpbs connection? Besides your usual network congestion.

Is it normal, for the download to take some 5-7 times less then a stream? For instance, when I get the file from the URL, it downloads at about 200KB, for a 5mb file about 18-28 seconds. For the same stream, it takes some two minutes.

Its weird, because when I first got my connection, it would complete the stream in less then 20 seconds. Some 6 times less. Is it normal for congestion to reduce your ability to stream off youtube some 70% then it previously was?

Just wondering what your average time was to watch a youtube video or any other.

Well because a stream plays in realtime and is dependant on the length of the clip.

Places like youtube, google etc will vary depending on server load.

It's harder for a server to stream than it is to serve a file to download...
