| reply to lilhurricane Re: [POLL] Cookie Controls - 2008 Member Choice
Thank you lilhurricane for handling this poll! I've got a whole new perspective on what goes into them... I voted Other: My cookie controls are either browser handled, or I manually go in there and remove the ones I don't want. I like that once I've removed a cookie in Firefox, it automatically no longer accepts further cookies from that site. |

CCleaner, CookieWall, and most of all: other (=IEClean, special build).
PS: IEClean (and his brother NSClean) are no longer supported since Comodo acquired PSC. I very much regret that..... |

| reply to lilhurricane Thank you for the excellent Poll lil'!
I voted IE Privacy Keeper (a little known program that's been around forever), IECookies View, and I've even been 'playing' around with CCleaner.
(Yes, that's right, jabarnut...the anti-registry cleaner guy)
Bottom line though, I really have these programs 'just to have' and because I like to 'play'....like my friend dadkins , Cookies just don't bother me at all. (Sometimes I even like to collect them!)
And if and when they do bother me, I can control them within the Browsers I use. -- I had a life once.....now I have a Computer and a Modem. |

| reply to lilhurricane I chose other. I still use Cookie Crusher on my 98SE box with IE 5.5. It was the first software I ever purchased that didn't come on that old computer. I use the old version (newer one acts as a proxy and I use the Proxomitron so I didn't want two proxies) that still works fine.
For Fx and Seamonkey, on the 98SE box and on my XP box, and IE6 on the XP box, I use custom settings and never allow third party cookies and have all browsers ask each time about first party and do not allow session cookies. Nothing works well on Opera though sadly to say but Opera is not as bad as Safari. Safari is a great browser as it is by far the fastest, but its cookie handling is like that of IE 5.5 so I only use it for a very few trusted sites where I allow cookies.
I also use Proxo, but not for cookie control. I may look into third party cookie control for Safari if any work with Safari. -- "The same ferocity that our founders devoted to protect the freedom and independence of the press is now appropriate for our defense of the freedom of the internet.
