Your reaction seems to be knee-jerk anti-government. Data are needed before a comparison can be made. My guess there are two figures to think about: (a) end-user cost per megabit per second, for both 'tax' and 'direct payment', and (b) non-end-user cost: i.e., how much the non-participants have to contribute to support the rest of us.
OT, I thought the whole idea of not having the government do this sort of thing was so that there would be lots of healthy competition improving the available services? |
