With proboards, don't your users have to signup new with each newly created board? |

Any registered user could get to any of these forums. plus the hidden mafia forum that is on there now. I can unhide the forum as soon as the game is over to expose it to the outside world (I used to do that then delete them but I figured I'd keep the other ones up so people could browse them if they wanted to...).
I can also make peeps administrator's if we need. That's easy as pie. |

| reply to yock Yep - every board has (or could have) the usual hidden Moderators and Administrators Forum. What I am proposing is the same idea except that the hidden forum be the Dead Players Forum.
Nothing new needs to be done except adding another forum to each moderator's current boards. You don't even need passwords really.
Of the ones I have seen, there is a switch that the Admin can use to disable a user account completely (for Town players who are alive) and a screen saying which forums which accounts have access to.
So: each mod who has a board would make these additions to their board:
1. Everyone who has been playing (i.e. active in Pub Games) gets an account on the board. As soon as a game starts, the Mafia get privileges to the Mafia Forum, which is hidden from all others, and all accounts of all living players are blocked in the Dead Players Forum.
2. As a player dies, his or her account gets enabled in the DPF. Actually, anyone with an account who isn't currently playing could be enabled in the DPF - its sole purpose is to keep out currently alive players. All of us could have an account there - just turn off access for people who are in a game and alive.
3. As a Mafia player dies, set his access on to the DPF but make his access to his Mafia buddies' forum read-only.
Yock's point about these forum softwares showing who is online and what they are doing is crucial.
The usual cure to that is to set all accounts to Invisible. -- Learn To Play DSLR Mafia at the DSLR Games Forum. |

| reply to Johnny I can see the desire to have a dead players forum, but in all honesty I just don't want to deal with it. The maintenance for such a forum would be just as burdensome as the mafia forums, except would require attention at every phase change. Some of these games are already technically challenging enough without having to maintain now a second set of authorizations. |

| reply to muzscman I will be willing to add anyone who is modding a game as an administrator to my boards if we want one centrally located place. It will be easy and they can deal with everything. I can set the registrations to just open instead of needing verification from a mod.

| But they are considered novelties. Once apon a time they were actually considered businesses. The closest one to me is in Barstow, CA (30 min from Victorville). Got to love the Double Feature.
