Similarly - sure you can get an unlocked iPhone in Germany...if you want to pay 999 euros (about $1,477US). yeah...they may be forced to sell them without contracts, but the law doesn't say "at the same price." Be careful of what you wish for - you might get it.

In order to 'open up' their networks, I'm sure that it won't be a 'complete' open network (as they stated they would open it to competing services... not wide open), and then they would charge competitors access fees -- Canada = Hollywood North

I have no problem with them charging competitors access fees. After all, they built the network and have every right to make money off it. I just hope the fees are reasonable ... but I'm not holding my breath.
