I rode my scooter to work today for the first time in nearly 2 weeks. It was cold! It was still cold when I rode across town to run an errand. It'll probably still be cold when I go home. Only a couple of people tried to kill me, though, although that's about average. |

learn how to break stuff
The guy at the Apple store was kind of funny. He asked me what I did for a living during one of those awkward pauses when nothing is happening and I told him I was an SQA engineer. He told me he was trying to get into that and asked me about some tips he could use to get into the business. He looked quite depressed when I told him he should learn something about programming so that he could describe problems to developers and be able to understand what they were doing. Now I'm kind of a failed developer, actually, I've taken a bunch of classes, but never broke into the developer biz successfully. I'm a damn good QA person, though, and I think having some of that background education pays off. |
