So, I am in need of good DSL internet, and I'm considering their Turbo package (»www.nexicom.on.ca/residential/in···/dsl.php), packaged with their residential line, long distance, and features, because Bell is so damn expensive.
Anyone here have any experience with Nexicom? I'm in Peterborough, Ontario, if that makes any difference. I haven't been able to find anything about internet usage caps. My Bell service has a 60GB cap, which clearly isn't enough per month. Does Nexicom have caps? What are the extra usage fees, if so?
Also, if anyone has any other suggestions for internet providers in the area would be great, too. Thanks! |

| Hi there.... I work at Nexicom....
Nexicom has no caps what so ever. We do not limit any peer to peer etc. Also, newsgroups are included at no additional cost and are not limited to speeds neither.
I presume you are located in downtown Peterborough? We are ADSL2+ based in all our facilities based locations.
Feel free to visit »www.nexicom.net/residential/tele···hone.php and run your phone number - there you will find Voice/Internet bundles.
Any other questions, feel free! |

| reply to lady_amorika Hi,
What does your DSL sync look like with Bell currently? As pstewart mentioned, our equipment in Peterborough is all ADSL2+ capable, and running in ADSL2+ mode with no caps whatsoever.
If you send me a IM in here with the general area that you live in, I should be able to give you an idea of the speeds that you should be able to get (since it is running ADSL2+).
Our DSL only serves people served from the Host in Peterborough, so if you are on a Remote, you won't be able to take advantage of the ADSL2+ service at this time. |

| reply to pstewart Hello,
I'm currently a Rogers subscriber, thinking of switching to something that provides Usenet access. Teksavvy provides free usenet access too, but you have to purchase a static IP address (4$/m) to get access to the usenet binaries (what I'm interested in). Does your free newsgroup service include binaries downloads?
Furthermore, is it possible to get your services without signing a contract? Can I pay using online payments from my bank?
Thanks! Sab |

| hi there...
Our usenet services are premium level which includes binaries yes. Teksavvy uses the same provider we do (usenetserver.com). Also, we do not limit your speeds on Usenet services - I believe Teksavvy does limit their speeds to Usenet (not sure what the speed limit is - perhaps one of their folks will chime in here hopefully)
We offer services only on a contract basis (which includes a modem as well) and payment via credit card or pre-authorized payment.
Thanks! |
