Uh, have you been hiding in a cave for the past three seven years?!?
Current in a copper pair indicates a working circuit port at the telco, not phone service. DSL signaling takes place on a totally separate frequency spectrum from traditional analog phone service, hence the ability of offering line share-based DSL service.
Verizon in NYC does it lazy-style by simply disabling the voice service features instead of provisioning a true data port to the CO. |
