I pay Verizon $40/mo total for dry loop DSL here in NYC. I used to pay $65/mo total for DSL & a POTS I never used. since then I moved my POTS phone number to my Sprint Cell, and still enjoy great low latency 3mb aDSL from Verizon. I would have preferred using Cable for broadband, but the basic bundle prices here in NYC are insane, like $115/mo.
