It's like getting a document in the mail such as a contract (initial connection), and having the mailman (packet interceptor) send it back signed by "Me" (forged RST packet).
Or, and this isn't forgery but it's still fucked up:
That's like me answering the phone for my roommate Bob before him (packet interception) when his girlfriend calls (initial connection) and telling her that I, Bob, hate her and want to break it off and then she hangs up (forged RST packet) before Bob can even answer.
