| Gifts
Is it not against the law in Texas for public officials to accept gifts from companies and activist groups? I know that here in Florida working in the government we have to be really careful who we accept gifts from even at a convention, depending on our job position and what kind of conference we are at. |

| reply to Maxo If public officials can be convinced to vote against their constituent's interests because someone let them watch a football game on a big screen, the only fault lies in the people that voted such shallow miscreants into office in the first place. -- What's certain about Darwinism is that it would take less time for (1) a single-celled organism to evolve into a human being through mutation and natural selection than for (2) Darwinists to admit they have no proof of (1) - Ann Coulter |

When the choices are corrupt politician A and corrupt politician B, how can it be the publics fault when a corrupt politician is elected? And if you think that politicians won't vote their pocket book (i.e. the ones that lining them) then you don't understand very well the nature of humans. That is why we have the laws we do in Florida. Even good people will make bad decisions in the wrong circumstances. |
