| [connectivity] Verizon 'Advanced DNS' an Ad Service
Currently, there is an issue with how Verizon handles DNS not available requests.
They have a system called 'Advanced DNS' which forwards all bad DNS queries to an Ad supported web page. This breaks things such as split tunnel VPN.
Here is a link to the website that discusses the issue:
Advanced DNS Description
There are links on this site which explain how to force the old DNS servers for Verizon if you have FIOS.
If you do not have FIOS, you can use a home router to force the old DNS servers.
These servers are:
123.123.123.14 Primary DNS 123.123.123.14 Secondary DNS
You set this, and it will follow proper internet protocols again.
Hope this helps! |
