| My presence - update on life
Hi Everyone!
Since I was last a truly active participant here, there have been some new faces come to join this board. Ever since it's inception, I've enjoyed reading this board. Unfortunately I haven't spent very much time here lately. The pictures I've seen in the gallery at a glance lately are fantastic.
Lately, I've been a very busy student (on several accounts) and haven't had time to shoot very much except for work.
I have even gone to such extremes lately as to list my 20D and lenses for sale at an unbeatable price. It's not because I am done with photography, instead, it is because I have other things that I am concentrating on.
This week, I started my official flying lessons. I consider myself a fairly proficient pilot just from experience I've gotten from others in a variety of aircraft, but the time has come (and not too soon) to make it official and become a licensed, safe pilot. Just about as long as photography, flying has been a great passion of mine.
My rationale for selling the 20D is that I am planning on buying a D300 sometime next year and that I need the money for flying more than I need it for photo equipment. It's going to cost me at least $5k just to get licensed. Since I am graduating in March, one whole quarter shy of four years, I will likely be working, and hopefully then I will be able to afford the D300.
One year from now I could be posting from any one of these places:
Davis, CA - UC Davis (where I currently am)
Los Angeles, CA - UCLA
Madison, WI - University of Wisconsin, Madison
Austin, TX - University of Texas, Ausin
I promise I will bring pictures from wherever I end up!

| Those of us who have been here a while have gotten to watch you grow up before our eyes, so to speak. I can't believe you're getting ready to graduate from college. It seems like you just started.
Congratulations on your journey to become a pilot. Maybe you and B52GUNR  can practice touch-and-go together. Good luck with your future endeavors. I wish you the best.
If you make it to Austin, maybe we'll see each other. We're crossing our fingers that our daughter chooses to attend the University of Texas next year. If so, I'm sure the wife and I will be traveling there quite often.

Thats awesome man... I'm in a similar point in life regarding options to where I'll end up. I'm looking at Bloomington, Chicago, Savannah, and Charleston right now. Decisions decisions.

We all must do what is important to ourselves. At times that can change and result in different things being brought to the fore front in our lives. That does not mean we abandon prior interests but just expanding our horizons.
This is what you have decided to do and we all understand and offer encouragement and well wishes for your current endeavorers. Just don't be a stranger here drop in as often as you can and like.
