You know what I love about O.O. program updates? You only have to download a 100MB package in order to update a few files. They'll get that figured out one day, maybe.
The good news? It's not Microsoft Office.  |

Try this that I read somewhere: set memory per object under Tools--> Options-->Memory to 64 MB--seems to drastically improve speed for opening the program. -- "Windows is for boys, linux is for men, osx is for adolescents." That has nothing to do with having to download a 100MB file in order to update the program.
But now that you mention it, I noticed they put a 'starter helper' in the startup folder now-- something I don't recall ever being there before. I disabled mine. The program starts up plenty fast for me when I want it to. No help necessary. I guess it comes in handy for some folks, though. |
