Blinking red means the modem is trying to sync/establish a connection.

You will have an internet connection when the light turns green.

Also keep in mind that the modem may also be defective. I've read comments where some 2700's from Canada Computers were bad. But the only way to make sure is to first make sure your line is activated or test with another DSL modem.
