Working here. Just a few power cycles.
Good way to reconnect with the family and meet your neighbors. It's like losing power for few hours. "Hey, I have a new neighbor. You move in WHEN??" |

Almost. The Westel will can only be accessed when it's not in Bridge Mode.
Another good point as well, something I didn't even think of. But then again I don't get much exposure to westell modems. -- If you have a topic in the direct forum please reply to it or a post of mine, I get a notification when you do this. Koetting Ford, Granite City, illinois... YOU'RE FIRED!!

Ok here. The question is:
How many people owe the neighborhood GeekGuy a pizza and 12-pack of cokes?
Common. Come clean. |

Close. But good try. Since we're picking at nits here, if one has set the nic to an ip of 192.168.1.x and a gateway of 192.168.1.254, then it's pretty easy to access it.
Not that very many people have that setup, most folks use DHCP.
Having said that, I'll give my unqualified endorsement to the advice of not mucking around with the reset button if you don't know what you're doing |

| reply to barton44 Guess that could be my problem. I hit the reset on my modem (of course that was before I had access to any forum let alone any tech support).
I still don't have access and my internet light is solid red. So from what I gather, I need to type in 192.168.1.254 to get to the westell page, then type in my login information, change to bridge mode for my linksys then I should be set? |

I experienced the spotty outage like others here. I accessed the netopia modem/wireless router advanced mode and changed DNS. DSL was back up and so were our wired computers. However, we provide a wireless hotspot (not using the netopia wireless) and we can not connect to the wireless with XP based systems. Vista systems can access the wireless. What is with that? So, today I am thinking I am going to change the DNS back and when I access the settings, found that it has already been changed to provider defaults??!! How did that happen? I am going to manually switch them back to Opendns to see what happens. Did changing DNS in the modem mess with our wireless router and access point? |

Should be unless you don't have good sync, but I think the westell can see the sync readings I think.
Got a model number of the westell by chance? |
