Re: DSL Down completely Do you get synch on DSL at all? Around here it's a DNS outage.
Try using the following opendns servers and see if it improves things (it worked for me):
208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220 |

| Another thanks for the DNS numbers. I've been totally down for well over an hour, and when it came back, it was only partial. Those numbers did the trick. Gotta be pretty widespread too, because the help desk isn't taking any calls ... any calls. |

 | reply to tigers I went to the OpenDNS site and it looks amazing. Is there any potential problem with using these DNS numbers permanently? My speeds are faster and according to their material, more secure. Can AT&T change my DNS back when/if it's fixed? |

I suspect AT&T doesn't care if you're using the Opendns, if for no other reason than it's less load on their own servers. |

I have had one pc on OpenDNS for 6 months and now the others are switched and will NOT be switched back to BS's servers.

 | reply to tigers Working for me in FL. One router generally does not take down a whole region. However, I am using AT&T/SBC-SouthWest DNS servers. |

 | reply to tigers Used the OpenDNS and speed returned to normal. Bellsouth/ATT DNS must be having "issues". North Atlanta Bellsouth DSL |
