~$350 for ~260GB over.... OUCH!

Bill recv'd TODAY December 5th.

No notice, no warning, no nothing!

Merry Christmas from Robbers!

Who needs christmas gifts for family members anyways, Rogers has millionaire stock holders to feed.

WTF, Rogers doesnt have a maximum? That's not fair to the customer...

Can you post a copy of the bill, edit out your relevant personal info? I'd like to show it to a buddy of mine who's a Rogers diehard and says they'll never bill for overusage...

Call, complain bitterly and forcibly. Explain that you've had no notice that charging was being implemented. Try using the Consumer Protection Act 2002 as leverage requiring 30 days notice.

Sadly, it's harder to use the leverage of "taking your business elsewhere" since Sympatico is now doing essentially the same thing. Are you on Extreme or Extreme Plus (which has been limited since day 1)?

Okay. Sorry to clarify a bit.

According to:

There are no overages for Extreme at the present time.

My overages are for a 'trial' of EXTREME PLUS which was enabled by the Office of the President, the representative of which left two messages and 3 calls of mine completely unanswered as usage rang up and I asked to be switched back to EXTREME (I had also made clear at the time of their 'offer' I didn't want to get hit with any nasty overage charges, something which a supervisor (also on the call) admitted through snickers had been common place for those on Extreme Plus).

The only reason I had them put me on EXTREME PLUS was to see if it gave more overhead for P2p xfers, but they have the same level of horrible packet interception and interference on all tiers of service. So the only thing I got was worse service at a worse price, not to mention Canadians already pay one of the highest prices for the lowest levels of service currently.

So it wasn't really EXTREME usage, and I apologize for my mis-statement. But they still have a lot of nerve enforcing such a ridiculous policy. at any level. And from the posts in this board it appears EXTREME billing isn't far off. I just thought I might be the first because of an early billing cycle or something.

I'd still complain long and loud that it's not fair considering the reason you chose to trial run Extreme plus and found no improvement.

sbrook: Thanks for your supportive comments. They were definitely helpful in helping me organize my thoughts and work towards a resolution here. And you were right. Through good communication, assertion, and a good supervisor / de-escalation agent, I was able to resolve this issue.

They removed the ~$350 charge for the overages which I truly never meant to incur and felt I did my due diligence to avoid.

It still sticks in my craw that the guy at the Office of the President failed to return two of my voicemail messages right while I was ringing up these charges in the three weeks I had their 'trial' solution. Returning messages? Isn't that way he gets paid to do?

That is problematic, yes. But normally, it's best to go the route of TOotP when other channels have failed.

I'd be interested in seeing this bill, because the overage is supposed to be capped below $350.
