Why not make these things media servers? Sounds like a better idea to me anyway. Charge a flat rate for full access to everything. Don't want it? Prefer another service? Totally cool. I don't see the logic in NOT doing something so obviously simple.
Put the darn content out there and be done with it. Watch piracy fall to very low levels. Soak up more money.
Oh, and did I mention competition? Yeah, that'd be nice too. Regular service - $10. Premium, higher quality, more options (same content - this should be wide open to anyone who wants to access it) - $15-ish. |
