Re: before they build it

Jeez someones a little sensitive. Remember this is an internet message board for computer hardware recommendations. You gave yours, others gave theirs. No need to complicate it with all that other nonsense. Let's just leave it at that.

Exactly. You can tell a child not to touch a hot iron over and over, but chances are they won't learn anything until they actually touch it.

And I am by far the most political incorrect person you can imagine. I get sick of reading the same posts over and over telling the OP not to buy the system. He acknowledges he's paying a premium and he's alright with that. Since his decision is made, stop trying to convince him otherwise.

To the OP: I wouldn't pay the premium for an Alienware computer, but that's just me. I choose instead to purchase Dells. I guarantee you half the people in here will say I'm paying too much for them, too. Since you are doing what you think will make you happy, and I'm doing what I know makes me happy, they can take flying leap.

I think Dell owns Alienware.

Yes, they bought them, but for obvious reasons they elected to keep them as separate divisions. The theory is it gives Alienware access to Dell's awesome supply chain, while Dell can siphon off the profits into the parent company -- a theoretical win-win.
