[Food] Oh Noes! Ick & I are gonna fix ya Stuffed Xmas Camel! :

If you put two great minds together you get............................

one missing dusty bong and it's trappings

two Helixers who figured that life would be more even keeled by now

the confusion of Christmas cooking

a lotta' Christmas lights that should be and go somewhere

a scathingly brilliant idea!

**************************************************************
Ick's brilliant idea came from a previous thread where a tongue and cheek mention was made of roasted stuffed camel.

»en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whole_stuffed_camel

It seems to be extreme to the absolute. Appallingly decadent, excessive in the extreme, absurdly impossible, and therefore, perfect for Helix.

It feeds 80 to 100 people, but that seems really like an underestimation.

We need a 2 acre (that's what it says, but that seems extreme) roasting pit, and I have the neighbors backhoe and the land.

Ick will bring the matches.

We are building the best virtual dinner on the site, so all contributions are welcome.

I assume that those penguins that I gave Ick will end up in there, and I know that there are still a lot of missing elves in Icksville.

Cats and dogs and other similar companion animals are not to be added to the stuffing... for those who hunt, stick to legal game.

Can anyone operate a backhoe??

Well, we don't have to worry about whose gonna' dig the hole... I'll get the Dig Safe permit. Now we need to figure out who can "acquire" a camel... that could be a tad tricky.

Most Middle Eastern connections seem to be lacking now, and zoos are not Ok...

Edit: Do you need a tin foil hat for that thing, Russ??

It would seem to me that it would be easier to obtain a moose ... or an elk ... or a caribou ... or a hippopotamus.

Perhaps a Hippocamelus bisulcus?

If push comes to shove, we could always have elephant.. although I am not sure about the warthog
Elephant Stew Recipe

"Due to the popularity of this recipe I have decided to give it it's own page. As you can see, various people from all over the world have been sending me suggestions on how to improve this recipe."

This one sounds interesting....
"......but you could always add a little Texas style. Just to give it a little kick or two. Follow all previous ingredients and add to it. Believe you me it will kick.
3/4 ton of kernel corn
3/4 ton of purple hull peas
10 dozen jalapena peppers
7 dozen serrano peppers 3 dozen habenera peppers
2 boxes cornstarch (to thicken gravy)"

Perhaps Carol would bring Jellied Moose Nose?

An alternate to the clown's suggestion might be Frog Croquettes?

I know a couple of Helixers who would enjoy Fruit Bat Soup unless their tastes have changed considerably of late.

And if you can't get that camel thawed in time, maybe Rockster See Profile would bring a backup main dish of Curried Kangaroo Tail, although it may take more than one to feed this crew.

Still mulling over various side dish, salad and dessert options.

Hmmm... The organization of this disaster, er, I mean truly delectable feast is gonna' obviously take a fair amount of planning...

The Jellied Moose Nose will prolly kill someone, Sunny, and we can't eat Frog Croakers, er' Croquettes. The idea is to create team unity, not to cause an out-right war...

The Fruit Bat Soup might do very well, and you can hit up Rockster for some weird, well, strange and unusual, I mean uniquely Australian back-up main dish.

After all, the whole thing could flop.

A few logistical issues are still evident.

If the Dig Safe folks aren't correct, digging that pit could get "iffy". Jack will have to work out the logistics.

If delenn wants stuffed elephant, we are gonna' need a much bigger bail fund. Those things are all endangered, I think...

TwoFrogs is on the right track, I think as far as the critter is concerned, so he can get the main dish while it is still "on the hoof"...

Obviously, we have plenty of fire to handle the project, even if it is a bit Chaotic.
********************************************************

Ick was sure that this was a "do-able" deal...

Oh, and Ick, that has the look of "dog" somewhere about it...

No dogs, cats, dogbirdcats, catbirds, birddogs, ya' know...

Pleeeeeease???

We can't eat Fluffy or Spot, and it sounds illegal...

I personally object to the suggestion of penguin on the menu.

They are a protected bunch and the original invite said legal game only.

I dunno about camel. How about something that people associate with XMAS. Maybe a reindeer, and if we could get one with a red nose, wouldn't that be special?

We can prolly get a permit for TwoFrogs See Profile to go and hunt down one of those, and the likelihood is fairly high that Rudolph is roaming around in Icksville, anyway...

That's a good idea, Howie!

sorto's variation on Rudolph will just manufacture a repeat of Thanksgiving, without the thawing...

Lots of inebriated people smeared all over the floor.

OTOH, that could make a good first course, along with the beer...

This thread makes me remember that chef's TV show where the dude goes around the world eating weird stuff. He went to Morocco and paid some desert men to roast him a whole critter, I forget what. They made an oven out of the sand to do it.

BTW, if I can find my old pet bat, I can donate it for the soup.

Someone bring the giant squid h'ordeuvers!
