| [Streamyx] frequent dc, (it used to be a perfect line), why?
firstly, im running win xpsp2 with firewall and i play online games and also DotA, i open ports etc and its all working fine
my streamyx was installed early last year and THAT TIME, my internet would dc when phone calls come in , raining etc
BUT THEN i had some guy to fix it , re-done my house phone lines etc , SPLITTER , etc and now even in heavy lightning storms i dont even dc (but i will turn off pc to prevent strikes) and my mom can chat on the phone for hours and i dont get a single lag.
BUT NOW, (just weeks ago) i start to get frequent dc and at RANDOM times, i live in klang and line has been stable years ago! Why? Last time it was stable all the time
I dont use p2p clients and use internet for surfing+gaming only. im using Aztech DSL 600e...

And another thing, last time the speed was OK ok also (though they dont even grant 50% speed), i downloaded world of warcraft @250kbps... im on 1mbps line
now it keeps dc and rc (DSL light keeps blinking) and i cant do a shit about it, talking to cust care just brings me no where (malaysian tradition), my neighbours are not getting any problems, ONLY ME, i paid my cursing bills !
sometimes , i get uptime up to 7 hours (what a miracle!!!) and sometimes(usually) not even 10 seconds
usually in the morning (8am) its stable until about 2pm, but now is 9am and it started to be stable, so i start finding some websites to help (since its stable) and when i read these, dc liao!!! (is Tmnut spying on me?)
i didnt change any settings in my router, everything is at default except the port i forward to be-able to create game in warcraft3's battle.net
can anyone help?
btw , i have dynamic IP (obviously) and my router (aztect DSL 600e) connects when there is power, i dont use the DIALING method, but this doesn't matter right?
i didnt change anything, my line USED TO BE very stable and smooth with 'never dc', last time i could turn on my PC for 15 hours with 000 dc at all, HELP ME PLeASE.......

btw, whats a DSLAM and SSL ?
I also tried to do a direct connect by removing connects to phone, that means router directly connects DIRECTLY to the outside, btw, my line is...
OutsideLine > Splitter >
Splitter Splits1 > Router
Splitter Splits2 > Alarm sys > Phone
i did searches and read thru this forum and feel that i have common/almost-alike problems with these users :

If i need to post my Attenuation & SNR Margin, how do i check this value in my router??
And my computer is not affected by any virus, spyware ETC cuz i have loads of scanners (all premium) and i dont surf unknown websites and dont simply click stuff
lastly, please help me, your help is greatly appreciated...

check cable, i had this problem before, mostly cable problem, outside there VERY SUX cuz some of their cable are old and old oldddddddd not upgrade (most). But make sure everything has been setting up properly like the splitter, alarm, software and etc. |

my cables all connected (in house)
as i said, before that its all ok, including splitter, settings(router), alarm, etc
only lately this problem appeared |

as u said , previously all things are rite ?
ok.. wat i see here u ds margin got problem.. duno wat problem but u call TM there u say just keeping dc and u do everything checking already.. whatever they say u must follow if everything has been done, u just say yes and tell them still disconenct. Then they will report for u and check for u.

oh yea... remember ur hardware (modem) not yet been shocked by lightning bo.. if not also den den liao.... Aztech DSL 600e is certified modem i think is ok, problem may be is tm,cable,software,hardware,splitter (this thing i heard many of them said easy rosak(damage) duno why), and ah...juz call TM la.. hop can help u !! |

software? i didnt change any software
i dont know the problem... sometimes if lucky can get 7-10 hours uptime wor.. |

| When the modem dsl line is blinking - symptom is your hardware itself got problem. The cable catchy mentioned is the dsl line (your phone line). Check the line whether or not it's perfect shape. Check both ends. Open the .... dunno what do you call those, dsl line's box (circuit board) - still looking good ?
Cz mine got fried, dunno by what - pee from rats ?!! WTF ?!!
So the key solution here is - DSL blinking - dsl phone line got problem. |
