Well good news. On Tuesday I found out that I can indeed goto other local offices. I don't know why the lady at the woodbury office said I couldn't. So ofcoarse I decided to check out other comcast offices. Luck was on myside, because apparently Tuesday is the day of the week the comcast offices around here get there stuff.
So I went to a pitman office. Really nice lady there. She tells me, her delivery just got there 10 minutes ago, and altough she ordered 10 HD boxes, they only got one. So I got the one and only box fopr the week potman NJ was getting. Still I needed another. Went to the franklinville office. This lady was not so nice. I think they also got some HD boxes, but she after she found out I wasn't from that serving area, she told me no. I then went to the turnersville office. They did have some HD boxes, but were on a waiting list, so i couldn't get them. However I ended up getting the DVR box there.
BTW, according to the lady in the pitman office, the DVR boxes are in short supply too. She didn't have any delivered (which is why I didn't get one there) |

I called em up today and both were out of stock, they both said Tuesday come and see. |

The lady on the phone said they could ship the box directly to me, so I ordered it. $9.99 for shipping, getting the DCH3200. 3-5 business day shipping. Woot! |

| Just an update Comcast came this morning and swapped out the DCH 3200 with a DCH 3416. I was having an issue with Cartoon network and a couple other channels not coming in like SCi-Fi. Well everything worked out the bix is great and all channles come in. |

@comcast.net | reply to rawboard Just picked up hd box however they did not have any hdmi cables and told me they are back ordered but that I should buy one. They cost $60 to $80 for a 6 footer. They should supply them but you know Comcast. Mike |

| Cables at stores like BB and CC are the biggest scam going. A couple times, I've told people looking at cables to go to Monoprice, eHDMI or other sites to get them. One time, a sales guy got visibly angry at me.
Don't like it? Don't gouge customers. |

| Depends on what the receiver end wants. Also, most STBs won't output anything greater than 480p over companent (worse, even if the STB will do it, quite a few TVs have issue with greater-than-480p over component, especially lower-priced HDTVs). For this reason, for STBs, I prefer HDMI over component (but CableCARD, if the TV supports it, over HDMI, due to differences between the scalers in the TV and STB; usually, the TV has the better scaler). |

I have yet to run into a TV that will only do 480p over component. The same goes for STBs. Especially if either has HDMI as an option. The cap on component is generally 1080i and for some TVs it is 720p, although component can carry 1080p I don't think I've ever seen it in use on commercial TVs. Even my more than 9 year old Panny HDTV supports 1080i over component and it has only one option for HD input. |
