It was the modem, it wasn't working. I got it replaced and everything works now.

@rogers.com		 I think I got your modem! I just picked up a refurb DSL modem from Canada Computers for $20 @ Pacific Mall today and am getting only a red light. My older DSL modem worked fine (although unreliably) so maybe I got your dud?
