This is a huge advancement and according to researchers has a high potential for human cures within 3 yrs or so. Besides sickle cell anemia, quick cures for similar defective gene illnesses like muscular dystrophy and cystic fibrosis are possible.

Well, after pushing for California to appropriate billions for embryonic stem cell research, I am sure they downplayed the fact the embryonic stem cell research going on now for years has not created one cure even in animals. |
